BERBER | BLUE

I just came back to the UK after spending another November / December in my favourite country in the world - Morocco (blog post coming soon), I may have to make this an annual trip. I've been reminiscing the very first trip I took there accompanied by my best friends. While looking through the photos of both my most recent trip and previous, I couldn't help question my brain about the whereabouts and burial of this blue handmade wool berber coat.

We simply 'had' to buy the jackets on our first trip, after it soon dawned on us that the temperature would plummet at night in the Sahara desert and we had nothing but suitcases of summer clothes.

One of my favourite things about Morocco is of course the markets and striking a fine bargain. We ended up paying the equivalent of £6 for these gorgeous jackets (Nov 2015).

I'm not usually one for skirts but as soon as I saw this pleated beauty I simply had to have it. I'm 5ft 9 so everything fits me 'cropped' (even if it isn't meant to be), so I paired it with leggings for extra coverage. Admittedly this is a VERY casual look for me, I tend to stick to strong silhouettes and tailoring, but I do really love this look and there isn't anything wrong with changing it up a little right?

LUNCHEON | SANROUF X FAIT MAISON

Our introduction to the brand began at Fait Masion with a delicious latte and outfit photos in the picturesque Gloucester Road. I have recently undergone double maxillofacial surgery (the procedure entails having both jaws broken & realigned)so I'm still suffering with a fairly swollen jaw, at the moment I'm avoiding clothing which require pulling over the head (this jumper is particularly soft and stretchy). I dressed quite casually with my usual shirt poking through.

Fait Maison has recently refurbished their Gloucester road branch, I would highly recommend popping in and trying their delicious French Mediterranean-inspired, fresh, wholesome dishes, all homemade and simply bursting with flavour otherwise treat yourself to a great cup of coffee and one of our fabulous range of patisserie, cakes or an utterly mountainous meringue.

Sanrouf London is a modest fashion company which aims to provide affordable accessible fashion with inspiration directly from the latest catwalks. I believe their aim is especially important, since I personally find that many modest fashion start ups aim for high end luxury, causing huge exclusivity. Sanjana (the owner) has definitely found a void within this market which desperately needs filling.

So in all the excitement of being surrounded by delicious food, good company and fashion (the three things I love most) I was gifted their gorgeous voilevta cape. My other two favourite include the Maya kimono and Autumn Dress; available from SANROOUF

Enjoy the short clip above which shows so highlights of this elegant affair... along with some mannequin challenge fun.

Pictured bellow enjoying the delights which Fait Maison had laid out  plentifully for us. Fait Maison is owned by a Palestinian who has now expanded her branches in London. She ensures that every aspect of her business is halal and only serves halal meat and non alcoholic beverages.

SANROOF beauties. I love the simplicity of all of the patterns and cuts which ooze class and femininity. SANROUF takes all of its inspiration from the seasons Catwalks with influence from culture infusing each piece.

AMELGO | OUD PERFUMES

_________________________

Amelgo are the masters in the discerning art of fragrance fusion. Being an Oud fanatic myself, its my absolute pleasure to share with you their blended ancient Arabic tradition with contemporary, Western technique. They use only the best and rarest ingredients to form their exquisite Oud collections. The finest ingredients are sourced directly from the exotic climbs of the East, with each note carefully selected to ensure all of their ten perfumes offer an irresistible assault on the senses, from romantic Rose to argarwood.

The packaging is just divine and sits beautifully on any dresser among other perfumes, it simply oozes luxury but comes with an affordable price tag.

- A unique fragrance that sets itself apart from your average perfume.

The spicy, oriental tones found in Saffron Noir are suited to both Ladies and Gentlemen alike. The refined notes of Saffron lend both an Eastern allure and an exquisite hint of spice whilst a sweet touch of Raspberry and the softening powdery tones of Violet combine to give this perfume an irresistible mysticism. Layered beneath its oriental charm, the subtle suggestion of Leather appears while drying, its earthen, woody aroma adding a sense of power and success to this truly unique fragrance.I love this scent for both daytime and evening, I have had many compliments when wearing it and above all it smells just like bukhoor.

INTENSE
Intense by name, Intense by nature.

This is Amelgo's signature masculine fragrance, it offers a unique blend of exquisite ingredients, creating a striking scent that conveys charm and refinement. The discerning tones of Oud lie at the base of this perfume, providing its trademark intensity. Rich, woody Must aromas linger with effect, whilst on top, bittersweet Saffron softens the bouquet with hints of earthy leather. With each scent heightened by the addition of Incense, this long lasting fragrance only intensifies with time. Dynamic and captivating, Intense is an indispensable accessory for those dress to impress occasions. Although this is labeled as a men's fragrance I would still use this for evenings and special occasions alike. If you love STRONG pure oud scents this one is for you.

PRINCE'S ROSE

A dynamic, masculine fragrance, this long lasting perfume stands in a class all of its own.
A deeply powerful, enticing aroma invites the senses on a journey through the floral tones of a rare rose, found only in certain parts of Spain, and the classic woody notes of elegant Oud. The deep yet subtle base is blended in perfect harmony with the romantic shades of powdery Rose, creating an oriental masterpiece that continues to effortlessly stand the test of time. I actually had a bespoke perfume made for me in Madrid by a perfumer who used this rare Spanish rose. Prines Rose smells exactly like is but costs 10 times less. Kuddos to the Amelgo team who knew my scent preference as well as a perfumer who spent a day with me.

OUD DUSK
- The earthy blend of rich, sweet, herbaceous aromas and warm, woody undertones provide the dominant backbone
This is their signature unisex fragrance which emits a strong, powerful scent, reflecting the confident presence of those who choose to wear it. The elegant edition of Juniper Berries gives the top notes a quintessential lingering freshness, the piquant and bracing shades rising from rich, musky foundations. Definitely not one for the faint heated, Oud Dusk will complement the professional individual throughout the day and well into the night with its high powered presence and authoritative aromatics. This is one of my favorite scents for work, initially is quite overpowering but once it settles against your clothes and skin its a beautifully airy and one of those scents that lingers around you.

My favorite thing about the Amelgo scents is that they last all day. I spray my hijabs at the beginning of the week and by the end they still smell as fresh as they did at the beginning.
